Seoul Walks : Model Transfer of Socio-Urban Ecology in Seoul
도시사회 생태계의 새로운 모델 탐구
Seoul Walks aims to bring together local residents and professionals, who are share interest in socio-urban transformation of Seoul. It builds upon experiences of the Model Transfer of Social Ecology in Asian Territory lecture series, which took place in Mugyewon in Buam-dong between October 2014 and February 2015, where professionals from South Korea, France, Japan and Slovenia compared diverse social engineering approaches and practices, and discussed their application within East Asian urban and cultural context.
In a similar way Seoul Walk wants to focus on local urban and cultural context of Seoul as emerging global city. The initiative aims to explore several areas in Seoul, including Seongsu-dong, Seoul Station, Mullae-dong, Seun Sangga, Dongdaemun and Changsin-dong, as cases to better understand the recent socio-urban transformation of the city.
For each case local residents and professionals are invited to meet, walk the area and talk about its transformation. Seoul Walks hopes that meet, walk and talk approach will allow participants not only to explore, but also to discuss and share their views on the city. Anyone is welcome to join the Seoul Walks !
